BLUFFTON FARMERS MARKET

Last Thursday, April 23, 2009 marked the opening day of the Farmers Market in Bluffton, South Carolina. It was a beautiful lowcountry day. The bell sounded at 2:00 p.m. to announce the market was open for business and the fun went on until 6:00 p.m. The market will be open now on Thursday afternoons from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. each week until November, 2009. KIX 96 provided a live remote for the afternoon at the entrance of the market on Calhoun Street and HWY 46 while Bill DuPont sang his heart out in the food vendors area.
Cornerstone Grill, Cumulus Radio, Palmetto Athletic Club, Lost Penguin Deli , Bill DuPont, KLT Construction & Building Service and HWY 21 Drive-In, all members of Lowcountry Business Circle donated door prizes announced throughout the afternoon. Lowcountry Business Circle was permitted to set up our table and showcase our members by giving out promotional items and coupons.  Julie Lawson owner of Creative Cabinet, Roberto Rodriquez, owner of The Training Ground, Hal Woods UFirst Consultant, Keith Tatro, KLT Construction & Building Services, and I, Kimberly Tatro, owner of Lowcountry Business Circle talked to people all afternoon. This day was photographed for us by Al Travison from Heron House Publishing.
The farmers market is something that residents and tourists alike in our area look forward to and have come to love each week. Being a part of the Farmers Market of Bluffton is an honor and privilege. This year, Lowcountry Business Circle will once again be tasked with Great American Bake Sale which will be held on June 25, 2009. We hope to raise $2000 for Share our Strength which is a national organization that not only raises money for hungry children in the United States but educates the children and their families on healthy food choices. Many thanks to Cornerstone Grill who has agreed to open their restaurant up as a collection point for baked goods. Baked goods and volunteers are needed, so if you are interested, please contact Kimberly Tatro by phone at 843.815.3757 or email.
See you at the market!
